MLB Pipeline had an interview with Tigers prospect Alex Faedo.
MLB Pipeline: As a junior, you received College World Series Most Valuable Player honors and helped to lead Florida to a national title. How important was it for you to finish your college career on the high note you did?
Alex Faedo: We came close to winning the CWS my first two years there, so it was big that we were able to bounce back from there and make it back last spring. You obviously want to do great every game, but I think your teammates respect when you can step up in big games. For me to be able to do that and help my team like that was special.
It’s a pretty interesting interview from the prospect pitcher. It’s also a short and worthwile read.
As with the Cubs and Astros in recent years, the Tigers are optimistic that their rebuilding efforts could yield ahead-of-schedule success in the big leagues. Based on some of the young, talented players they acquired last season, adding to a system that already was top-heavy with high-ceiling pitchers, that could very well be how things play out in the coming years.
I think that affirms what many people think, the Tigers are aiming to follow the same blueprint that took the Astros and Cubs from rebuilding to World Series Champions.
