Detroit Tigers prospect Christin Stewart had quite the May as MiLB.com points out:

The 24-year-old saw his average slip and strikeout total rise last month, but Triple-A Toledo manager Doug Mientkiewicz believes he could hit in the Majors right now. Stewart is also working on his versatility as the left fielder played three games in right for the first time in his career. — KH

MiLB.com also has a nice feature on Mud Hens Coach Mike Hessman. Hessman holds the MiLB home run record and spent 19 years in the minors where he finished his career with the Mud Hens.

West Michigan sending two players to Midwest League All-Star Game

The West Michigan Whitecaps are sending two players to the Midwest League All-Star Game in Lansing next week.  RHP Brandyn Sittinger and INF Cole Peterson were both selected to represent the Eastern Division in the All-Star Game. Sittinger has struck out 36 batters in 27 innings of work this season. He’s posting a 5.00 ERA with a 2-0 record. Peterson is sporting a .280 batting average in 214 AB.

Lakeland lands two players in Florida State League All-Star Game.

The Lakeland Flying Tigers are sending Isaac Paredes and Daz Cameron to the FSL All-Star Game as represents for the North Division. Paredes is posting a .219 batting average in the Florida State League. He’s slug five home runs this season and brought in 31 batters. Cameron is posting a .268 batting average this season. He’s slugged three home runs and driven in 20 runs.
